Interim Spaces is one of the UK's leading providers of truly affordable, flexible and sustainable workspace.
An impact-focused interim use specialist led by arts professionals, our work unlocks significant social and economic capital by repurposing empty buildings. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, well-resourced work and development space that is truly affordable to our end users – freelancers, micro-businesses, bootstrap startups and entrepreneurs, artists, creatives and non-profit organisations.
A Space
-
We establish and operate high quality and sustainable creative hubs by using empty buildings fitted out with upcycled surplus construction materials and reclaimed furniture
-
Our workspaces are truly affordable, significantly under market rents, with at least 20% granted for free to local community groups and sponsored social and cultural businesses
-
We employ locally and are supplied by local providers wherever possible
A Platform
-
Our venues can make use of a wide mix of vacant property, showcasing new and experimental arts forms and providing platforms for new talent
-
We can animate vacant short-term retail and street-level premises with pop-up creative enterprises - from artist residencies and galleries to retail incubators
-
We provide ancillary services to the arts and cultural sector via low-cost rehearsal and development studios
A Community
-
We curate diverse memberships and programmes of arts, cultural and business events, activities and workshops
-
We encourage participation and collaboration between our members and local businesses
-
We ameliorate the effects of social isolation – a growing mental health concern in the UK – from working alone in flats, houseshares, cafes, the library and other public spaces
